Every Monday morning (9am-1pm) there's a great flea market in the famous Jordaan
quarter. You can find antiques, fabrics, records and piles of second-hand
clothing. You’ll have to fight with the locals over a funky dress, but it will
be cheap. The Jordaan itself is a former working class area, which now has
plenty of nice bars and restaurants and shops. Café Winkel on the corner sells
the best apple-pie in town.

On Saturday (9am-4pm) the Noordermarkt has a
biological food market, offering fresh ecological products. You can find organic
fruits and vegetables, oils, herbs, candles and so
on.
