A very small (ca. 8 qm) room was offered to us. The room was formerly a bathroom. However, the bricks were still left and the place of the shower cubicle was just covered by a sort of plastic. The room just included a double mattress and very small space around. However, the most striking fact was, that rain was coming into the room!!! We detected a large water spot on the right mattress. For this reason we decided not to stay in this "hole". Unbelievable was that the owner definitely knew that rain entered the room (from other German guests). Despite this fact the owner tried to give us this uninhabitable room. This is really a criminal act. These people theme just like to make money without any bad conscience! After a lot of discussions we were finally transferred to another house in the vicinity. This was just a small room under the roof. The double bed was more or less a divan bed (in German: Liege). The most unpleasant thing was the fact that about 7 double rooms shared one toilet and one shower! Be aware that the photos offered in the internet definitely do not origin from the Farah Guesthouse. That is again a fair swindle!!! Farah Guesthouse Amsterdam - Reviews and ratings

Farah Guesthouse Amsterdam Price range € 20 - € 55 Click here to check current prices, and to make an confirmed booking What makes an accommodation a good one to stay or book? Theres no easy answer to that. Some people go for character and fun, others go for security and cleanliness. and for some only the location is important because they only need a place to close their eyes for a minute or so ![]() So no review about one place will ever be the same, anyone can have a different opinion about the same location. But if you reed between the lines in a review, you can find out if the place fits you! Just keep in mind what you want to get out of your accommodation. We have selected some different comments from different people who booked on line at the bookingsengine we use to get you on your way: Average Rating over the Last 6 months
Nationality: New Zealand --- Age Group: 25 - 30 --- Trip Type: Weekend Away Comments: The Farah, in typical Amsterdam style, is an incredibly narrow building, with rooms on many floors. We had the only room on the ground floor which was great; however the climb up and down two flights of very steep stairs to the super-clean shared bathroom was a little precarious! Our room was very warm and included comfortable beds, table & chairs, fridge, sink & TV.....it also included a cabinet full of building tools and a roll of carpet. Despite these slightly odd additions to the room and the slightly strange layout of the building, we’d recommend the Farah if you are looking for somewhere to stay that's away from the bustle of central Amsterdam, but close enough to comfortably walk everywhere. The location is great – it’s only a short walk to the station, the central square & Anne Frank's house. Just leave your preconceptions about a "normal" guest house behind, because the Farah is definitely unique! ratings: Character 80% Security 60% Location 100% Staff 60% Fun 60% Cleanliness 100% average rating 76% Nationality: Australia --- Age Group: 31 -40 --- Trip Type: Weekend Away Comments: Please be aware that I was given a different price by the owner upon arrival as the one I was quoted online. She at first tried to tell me that The 10% deposit i had paid was not to come off the total price, but was a commission fee taken by the 0nline booking agency! we negaotiated a price which was still higher than the original. (even when including the 5% duty) Make sure that anyone else staying here keeps the phone number of the owner. we were given two keys - ansd the one that was supposed to open the front door did not. we were lucky when we returned later in the day that some others staying there let us in the front door and gave us the number of the owner so we could organise the caretaker to return and give us a key.. It wasn't a hostel as such - but a house with private rented rooms that no caretaker actually lives at. ratings: Character 80% Security 100% Location 80% Staff 100% Fun 80% Cleanliness 100% average rating 90% Nationality: Vietnam --- Age Group: 18 - 24 --- Trip Type: College Break Comments: Perfect position, near central station and especially Red-light Shoping window:).
